With Simone Inzaghi losing his voice, Lazio assistant manager Massimiliano Farris praised the team’s “character” against Fiorentina.
Ciro Immobile got the only goal of the game, ending a run of two consecutive defeats between Serie A and the Europa League.
“I bring the apologies of Simone, but he has a problem with his vocal chords and asked me to fill in,” Farris told DAZN.
“This victory is wonderful because it showed character, playing the way we had prepared every aspect of the game. In the second half, we started to struggle with Thursday’s effort felt in the legs, so Fiorentina kept more possession.
“However, if you look at the scoring opportunities over the full 90 minutes, we deserved to win.”
