Spurs are ready to enter the bidding for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot in January.
The 23-year-old France international midfielder is set to be out of contract next summer so is free to speak to non-French clubs at the turn of the year.
PSG have had a number of contract offers turned down and are resigned to losing the player.
Besides Tottenham , Rabiot is also in the sights of several other top European clubs, including Liverpool and Spanish champions Barcelona .
Last month, new boss Thomas Tuchel heaped praise on the midfielder and encouraged him to remain with the Ligue 1 champions.
“I love working with Adrien. He had a difficult situation when he missed the World Cup but his effort has been at a maximum.”
“He has great potential after being trained at this club.
“He is essential for our approach. It is very important to have footballers of this nature.
