In what seems like every Marvel fan’s dream, one lucky fan has a chance to earn $1000 for watching all films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After the release of Captain Marvel just a few weeks back, Marvel fans all over the world are now preparing for Avengers: Endgame, and this may be the perfect way to get ready.
The fourth Avengers film will mark the culmination of the narrative the studio has been building for the last decade, since the release of the first Iron Man film. It’s a big deal not only for those directly involved, but also for the fans who have been following the story throughout 21 films. The reward for such level of loyalty won’t go past the satisfaction of seeing all the heroes reunited in Avengers: Endgame, but one lucky fan may have a shot at getting a much bigger reward.
In anticipation of Avengers: Endgame, CableTV announced “The Marvel Movie Marathon Experience,” in which they will pay one fan to watch all 20 films from the MCU (Captain Marvelobviously not included). The ideal candidate is not only a Marvel fan, but also an active social media user, as they will be tasked with live-tweeting their marathon experience while tagging CableTVsocials. The chosen, lucky fan will receive $1000 in cash.
Of course, there has to be more than a cash prize for binge-watching that many hours of superhero action, which is why the chosen candidate will also receive all three MCU Blu-ray box sets, along with the Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Ant-Man and the Wasp Blu-rays, as well as a “Marvel Marathon Survival Kit,” which includes a Captain America popcorn popper, Orville Redenbacher popcorn kernels, a Thanos Infinity Gauntlet mug, an Iron Man snuggie, a $100 Grubhub gift card, and a bunch of Marvel gear.
Just like in any other contest or “experience,” there are rules and limitations. Marvel fans are scattered all over the world, but only those who are US citizens (and at least 18 years old) can apply for this “dream job.” Those who meet these requirements have to fill out the application form and make their case in about 200 words. And, while the experience is all about a marathon and binge-watching 20 films, it doesn’t mean the chosen individual won’t get a break, as they’ll have three days to complete the task.
This marathon experience is one that will surely appeal to many Marvel fans, and it will be interesting (and fun) to see how the chosen one will organize this major binge-watch and what their insight and takeaways on social media will be. All in all, it’s a fun experiment with lots of perks that will end up entertaining not only the “hired” super fan, but also those following the journey.
