Real Madrid’s reported interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar may be good news for Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks now that the season is starting to draw to its conclusion.
Arsenal were only able to bring in Denis Suarez on loan in January, and Unai Emery is keen to splash some cash when the summer window swings open.
One man high on the Gunners’ wishlist, according to numerous reports, is Serbian international Luka Jovic.
As things stand the 21-year-old is on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica, with the German club set to activate their €6million clause to sign him on a permanent deal.
But Real Madrid have also reportedly been offered the striker, who you’d assume would favour a move to the Bernabeu should Los Blancos come calling.
However, Real Madrid are currently weighing up whether making a move would be the right decision for them.
They are in the market for a new marksmen following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus, and have identified former Barcelona forward Neymar as a possible replacement.
The Brazilian would cost a fortune, and it seems Real Madrid may be looking to retain some of their cash specifically to sign Neymar.
This would put Arsenal in a much better position to sign Jovic, should Real Madrid end their pursuit.
According to Marca however, Arsenal and Real Madrid aren’t the only teams interested in the youngster with both Manchester City and Barcelona also keeping tabs on him.
