Sevilla have revealed that Joaquin Caparros will not coach the team next season.
The La Liga club say Caparros will stay linked to the team but in a different position that will be announced in due course.
The former sports director has coached Sevilla since replacing the fired Pablo Machin in March, leading the club to a sixth-place finish which secured a spot in the Europa League.
Caparros has overseen 241 matches at Sevilla – more than any other coach – including a spell in the final stretch of last season after Italian coach Vincenzo Montella was sacked.
The 63-year-old announced last month he was fighting chronic leukaemia but could keep working normally at the club.
